The most talked about transfer saga of the Summer Transfer window 2015 was the one of David De Dea. Manchester United somehow succeeded in keeping the services of the spaniard despite being on the brink of selling him to Real Madrid. In a reply to Real Madrid's statement, United too released a statement to tell there side of the story. This article has nothing to do with the transfer saga but i would like to quote one line from Manchester United's statement about the De Gea saga. United said.
"If you let one slip through your fingers, the culpability is yours"
How ironic it is that at this point, Manchester United Football Club might let two world class managers slip through there fingers. Yes, Pep Guardiola and Jose Mourinho. What's annoying is the uncertainty about everything linked with Manchester United. Since the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson and David Gill at almost the same time, Manchester United have been strugglers on and off the pitch. A change on the touchline would have been easier had the things in administration remained the same. But well, unfortunately for the football club both Gill and Ferguson left United and the transition was anything but smooth. While the Manager needed help from the board, the board was trying to settle in and lets not talk about the dreadful Summer of 2014, the one in which we ended up paying £27M for Marouane Fellaini. That in my opinion a sign of things to come from Mr. Ed Woodward and his inapt board. I want not to discuss, the past or Louis Van Gaal. The problems at Manchester United are more than just Louis Van Gaal.
Ed Woodward to his credit, since the takeover has made Manchester United very much financially sound. Everyday we see Manchester United signing up deals with companies and other global partners and no one denies the global attraction of United as a football club. But let's not forget why is Ed Woodward able to sign all the sponsors and why is United a financial power. It's down to the fact United won on the field. The board is still banking on Fergie's success at Manchester United and using it to earn a lot of money but since then things have been absolutely dire on the pitch and as a football club you are known for how well you play and not how well you earn. Having money is one thing but using it and investing properly is another.
